Williamsport based metal band, 44MAG has been recently accepted to take part in this year’s Millennium Music Conference and Showcase taking place in the Harrisburg, Pa area this February.

The 15th Annual Millennium Music Conference and Showcase will be held Feb. 17-20, 2011 at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel and Convention Center and 25 showcase venues in and around the City of Harrisburg.

The conference features two afternoons of music business keynotes, panels, clinics, workshops, day stage, one-on-one mentoring, demo listening sessions, and an industry trade show.

The event celebrates new music with four nights of showcases featuring over 300 original acts at over 30 live music venues. Since 1997, the conference and showcase has become one of the premier music events on the East Coast.

Over the years MMC has educated and showcased thousands of independent acts and artists.  Music industry professionals will attend as panelists, speakers, mentors, exhibitors and talent scouts to network, do business, and share their experience with musicians, registrants and attendees.

With astonishing original material, a great cover selection, tremendous musicianship, and an unmatched live performance, 44MAG is a band not to be over looked. Formed in 1998, the band was born through the founding member’s love of pure and true heavy metal.

Fueled by their direct influences of Slayer, Pantera, Metallica, Black Sabbath and so many more that went before them, they pooled their collective energies and talents and began writing immediately. 44MAG released its first single in 1999 and began playing shows locally to begin building, what was to become and still is, a very dedicated fan base.

After releasing their second recording in the Spring of 2001, 44MAG took to the road, playing regionally and crossing state lines to take their music to the masses. Since then, the members of spend the years writing, recording, and putting on some of the best live shows audiences have ever seen from an unsigned metal band, making new fans wherever they go.

In August of 2007, 44MAG released their first full length album entitled "Past Sins." The album included re-recording of previous EP and single releases as well as new material and was praised as, “one of the top metal releases by an unsigned band in PA.”

The present lineup of 44Mag includes founding member, Jesse Roedts (Drums) and Jason Miller (Bass) as well as Josh Welteroth (Guitar), Pat Cioffi (Guitar) and Jared Mondell (Vocals). Currently, the band performs on a regular basis all over the state and beyond, and is presently working on material for a new, full length album, due out in 2011. The band’s most recent release is a three track EP entitled “50 Miles,” which was officially released in December of 2010 and is available as a free download at their Reverb Nation website.

44MAG will be playing their showcase set at the Rock Kat Bar and Grill in Duncannon, Pa on Feb. 19. Other bands playing include The Hybrid, Faith in Exile, and Hold Your Breath. 44MAG is scheduled to hit the stage at 11 p.m.

The band will also be playing two shows in Muncy in the upcoming weeks ,including Tommy’s Sports Bar on Jan. 29 and The Log Cabin Inn on Feb. 26.
