Results from 101st PA Farm Show

HARRISBURG – The 101st PA Farm Show wrapped up on Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Harrisburg. The show was held from January 7 to 14 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center. Lycoming County woman, Stacy Hart, of Muncy, won the Blue Ribbon Apple Pie contest on Saturday, January 7 for her apple cranberry cheesecake pie made with Honeycrisp, Yellow Delicious and Gala apples.

Fero Vineyards & Winery of Lewisburg, Union County, won the Governors Cup for their Sweet Red on Saturday, January 7.

On Wednesday, January 11, Montour County team "Time Warp" wove the winning shawl in the 38th Sheep-to-Shawl Competition. This was their sixth consecutive year of winning in this category. The team included Carl Geissinger, Emily Kephart, Ivy Allgeier, Katherine Dashner, Libby Beiler and Jeff Johnstonbaugh, who have been working together for more than 14 years. The team has won the shawl contest a total of nine years. Beiler describes Time Warp as the ultimate “dream team.”

Other placements in the 2017 Farm Show included people from Clinton, Northumberland, Union, Montour, Columbia and Tioga counties. A list of area winners is below:
